On the 8th of June, my cousin Alison (ok, Ali for all those in Alison's post-high school life) and her husband Mark came to Oregon from Houston, Texas to visit mutual friends Rich and Michelle Auchter. Ali and Mark introduced Michelle and Rich to us after we moved here last September since Michelle and Ali were sorority sisters at, ahem, Indiana University. I know, poor kids. We won't hold it against the ladies, though.
The weekend was packed. Friday was dinner at the Auchter's, Saturday evening was a nice evening out sans children at one of the best places in Portland to eat Italian - Caffe Mingo. Sunday the festivities continued with a rather extensive tour of the wine country in the Willamette Valley. Starting out at one of the original wineries in the Valley, Adelsheim, we continued on to Anne Amie, The Carlton Winemaker's Studio and finishing up at none other than Panther Creek (just to show Mark and Ali where I used to work).
Click here for some pictures from the Sunday at Anne Amie Winery. Our camera was not working, so these pictures were from Rich and Michelle. Thanks, guys! I took some pics with my phone, but those turned out to be rubbish, so they are not here.
